Existen diferentes criterios para evaluar el impacto de un polutante que puede ser desde el destino en el medio ambiente, el destino en el organismo y la acci\u00f3n como tal en el interior del organismo. Los bioindicadores son especies, grupos de especies o comunidades biol\u00f3gicas cuya presencia y abundancia son indicativas biol\u00f3gicas de una determinada condici\u00f3n ambiental. Estas herramientas son muy utilizadas para evaluar y monitorear impactos en ambientes acu\u00e1ticos. Los biomarcadores: son cambios biol\u00f3gicos a nivel molecular, celular y \/ o conductual que expresan la exposici\u00f3n y los efectos sutiles inducidos por contaminantes o condiciones ambientales alteradas. Las respuestas en estos niveles de organizaci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica ocurren en una escala de tiempo significativamente menor por lo que sirven como se\u00f1ales de aviso previo de la degradaci\u00f3n en comunidades y ecosistemas. Finalmente, los bioensayos son un m\u00e9todo sencillo a usar en laboratorio y representativo de las condiciones ecotoxicol\u00f3gicas. El presente proyecto busca evidenciar organismos locales de la regi\u00f3n de Cochabamba bioindicadores de la contaminaci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas.
